Opportunity to help the indigenous children of Costa Rica

We are traveling to Costa Rica in December. We will enjoy the great coffee, awesome mountains, Pacific beaches, and kind hospitality of the Ticos.
We usually pack fairly light when we travel, but this trip we will carry several large suitcases. The extra bags will be packed with donated items for needy school children in Costa Rica. We need your help to fill these extra bags.
We will be in the Turrialba Coffee region and will donate items to the…

I wish you could have made this network open to add or keep track of friends. It is a great way to keep in touch. Once the group get large it is very hard to keep track off people with out it.

my two cents worth

Hi Robert,

My news alerts for Coffee brought up, once again, the tragic llink between Coffee and suicide bombers.

Coffee shops, willing to serve all, have easy targets for suicide bombers..This time, in the small town of Dimona, the coffee shop was the place the terrorist went for his final perk of the day..before attempting his hand at mass murder.

The outcome was sad...but not as bad as it could have been..since only one bomber managed to explode his device.

Here is a link (sorry it is so long and i don't know how to create it as a short hyperlink)

Thanks Robert - appreciate you setting up the ning group. I'm only a couple months into the iR2 (used to use a popcorn popper). I started using Tom's 'basic' profile, but found it run a bit long, even when ready to hit cool, so have switched to his cupping profile which is nearly the same in terms of stages and temperatures, but at least 2 mins shorter.

Siphon, (vacuum) brewing was in vogue in 80~90's.
Nowadays espresso and drip brewing is in fashion
among coffee lovers even though instant coffee is prevailed
in the whole coffee market.

Starbucks opens its first 'un-Starbucks' store, 15th Ave Coffee & Tea

At 6:00 am on Friday, the doors opened to Starbucks first “un-Starbucks” store on Capitol Hill in Seattle. It’s called 15th Ave Coffee & Tea and upon first glance, you would never know it was a Starbucks. There isn’t a green siren logo to be found anywhere. The only thing giving away the true identity of the corporate owner are the words “inspired by Starbucks” strategically placed around the

Idle thoughts... from an idle mind

Did you know?
Costa Rica is the only country in the world which has issued an executive order banning the production of any variety of coffee other than Arabica. This standard is made possible by the expertise, experience and favorable physical conditions found in this remarkable land.
I'm going to Costa Rica soon!

Computers and coffee roasting do NOT mix. How many burnt batches of coffee before I follow that rule?
