My usual brewing is drip brewing, followed by moka pot. I have a gaggia classic and mdf grinder for espresso. When I use the classic, I use mdf. But I am using the classic 1-2 times for a month. Read More »

Great photos!
When I visited China a few years ago, siphon, (vacuum) brewers were common in the upscale bars. Are they used in South Korea, also?

Good day my friend,

Nice to see your sparkling face..I should change my photo..i don't think this old man grinding his beans is as handsome as me...

My Iroast broke down, has been repaired and i just have roasted some wonderful Sumatra Goya...deep and rich.

I lengthened the roast time by punching some holes in the chaff collector, so there is more airflow..(of course the chaff flows too...and but i already have worked without the chaff collector...by catching the chaff in a net screen.

Maybe i will post a photo of it here.

ciao,
Uncle

Starbucks opens its first 'un-Starbucks' store, 15th Ave Coffee & Tea

At 6:00 am on Friday, the doors opened to Starbucks first “un-Starbucks” store on Capitol Hill in Seattle. It’s called 15th Ave Coffee & Tea and upon first glance, you would never know it was a Starbucks. There isn’t a green siren logo to be found anywhere. The only thing giving away the true identity of the corporate owner are the words “inspired by Starbucks” strategically placed around the

Idle thoughts... from an idle mind

Did you know?
Costa Rica is the only country in the world which has issued an executive order banning the production of any variety of coffee other than Arabica. This standard is made possible by the expertise, experience and favorable physical conditions found in this remarkable land.
I'm going to Costa Rica soon!
